The Campaign
We created a moving announcement specially designed for Whatsapp.
Creative Execution
We created a really simple tool in the form of a mobile website. Just fill in your old and your new address and a vertical Streetview timelapse video is generated on the fly. Easily shared with all your friends and family through Whatsapp.
Over 70% of people reached used the service and rated the tool with a sentiment score of 8.2, scoring far over benchmark.
Using WhatsApp as a platform helped amplify reach as people shared the video in their WhatsApp-groups, having the service become an ad on itself.
Best of all, instead of being a boring bank that only supplies the money, we found a way to be of service and celebrate a life event for all of our mortgage client
Since banks normally only provide the money when you buy a house, we were looking for a way to become more relevant on a personal level. This relevance had to fit into the lives of our clients in a natural way (Whatsapp is the most used social platform in the Netherlands). With over 26.000 mortgage clients a year, we were also looking for a way to build a long-term sustainable platform that could live on its own.
We asked ourselves where we, as a bank, could be more of service in the entire process of buying a new house. With everything mentioned before and a clear insight (why do we still send physical postcards to notify friends and family that we are moving?) the idea and the service was born.
