Brief Explanation
The 2016 Sainsbury’s Christmas film tells the charming tale of a hard-working and devoted dad who comes up with an ingenious plan to make sure he can be with his family for Christmas.
The film opens with Dave, a time pressed man who works in a toy factory in Bisby. After a series of incidents, he sadly misses his kids’ bedtime. Whilst his children sleep, he spots a gingerbread man, decorated to look just like him. He has a brainwave – and returns to work to create a series of toy versions in his likeness. The replica Daves come in all shapes and sizes – tapping monkeys, nodding dogs, toy planes and dancing robots. He sends out his replacements into the world, allowing him precious time to spend with his family and join in their much-loved Christmas celebrations.
