The Campaign
Coming to America feels like entering a film set. Even if you haven´t been there before, you know exactly what everything looks like; the cops, the mobsters, the NYC-cabs, the streets and the fire hydrants. Because to Europeans America is just like the movies.
Creative Execution
We created a campaign based on common references, and recognizable characters - well known from American movies. A spot for TV and Cinema was shot in 7 different languages, and several extra scenes were shot vertically for online use. Photos taken at the filmset were used for outdoor, print, banners and own channels.
It was a 360 degree campaign in owned, earned and bought channels, published in more than 8 European countries. The campaign was launched in late September 2017, and will be active for a few years.
After being live for a month, awareness of Norwegian as a provider of US flights, increased greatly in several European Countries.
Denmark up 16%
Sweden up 14%
Norway up 7%
UK up 17%
"Just like the movies" is a concept that works just as well on a small web banner as it does on the big screen.
The campaign idea enabled us to create uniquely tailored content for each specific media platform.
In Europe, news from America was loaded with insecurity, public distress, and negativity during and after the presidential elections. Our strategy was to shift the focus, and show America from one of it’s good sides. The good old America we all know from the movies.
