Write a short summary of what happens in the film
The film shows a series of snapshots of women, getting on with their lives, doing whatever it is they choose. Whether that be going for a morning swim, powering through a physiotherapy session, a working mum doing the school run, a long shift at a nonstop job, or even having a baby; each woman is living her life with a fearless determination and strength. Each snapshot is accompanied by titles, written in the first person, which highlight the strengths that make them unstoppable.
We then revisit each hero, with a proud portrait shot, as the titles reveal what they all have in common; they all have MS. But they won't let their condition get in the way of their plans, even if those plans include starting a family. The film ends with a group shot of our heroes, standing together, fearless and strong, united by the titles; ‘We are unstoppable’.
Cultural / Context information for the jury
Up until recently, there has been no clear advice or treatment course for neurologists to offer patients about family planning. As a result, many women have chosen to drop off their treatment, sometimes for extended periods of time, when they wanted to start a family. With new treatment options becoming available in 2019, Merck wanted to open up the conversation about family planning and put a stop to the stigma.
Tell the jury anything relevant about the edit. Do not name the editor.
The editing is a fast-paced, adrenaline-filled sequence of 5 different lives all united by their fearless determination and strength. The matching cuts help the viewer to flow from one life to another in a seamless way. Following the climactic childbirth scene, we then revisit each of our heroes, for a proud portrait shot. They are united not just by their unstoppable attitude, but also by their condition, which is reflected by the titles; ‘I have MS’, ‘We are unstoppable’.
