Write a short summary of what happens in the film

We open on a teddy bear alone in a kids room. He looks at the empty bed and rund downstairs eager to find his owner and the rest of the family. The house is empty and in his search to find out where they are he looks at the calendar which circles a date one word: VACATION. The teddy looks horrified and goes through a range of emotions until he finally gives up and collapses crying on the floor. A beam of light penetrates the darkness in the hallway and spreads as the front door opens, revealing the teddy bears owner. She has come back for him and we follow them to the airport express terminal where they are reunited with the rest of the family and board the train.

Tell the jury about type(s) of animation used and summarise any relevant challenges or techniques.

The animation was done in 3d, but in stead of just shooting empty plates, every scene was shot with a puppeteer controlling a physical teddy bear for reference. That also let the director actually direct the main character along the way and before the animation team got started. The physical puppets actions gave loads of input into the final animations and added some character and presence to the final animated teddy bear.
