Write a short summary of what happens in the film
The Puy du Fou takes the viewer along for several poignant minutes alongside Louis, a WW1 French Soldier, abandoned on the battlefield in the hell of Verdun. The young soldier looks one last time at the picture of his fiancée who seems to be calling for help. He then embarks, accidentally, on an odyssey through the centuries to find her.
Cultural / Context information for the jury
Le Puy du Fou, voted "Best Park in the World," released this short film "Eternals." Completely shot in the heart of the authentic scenery of the Puy du Fou, and interpreted by the park's stuntmen, riders and artists, this saga through the centuries draws an original parallel with the experience lived by visitors at the Puy du Fou, travelling from one time to another through breathtaking performances.
Tell the jury anything relevant about the cinematography.
The work of the cinematographer is certainly part of a more impressionist and poetic approach. This approach promotes the emotional immersion of the viewer. It touches on the intimate, sometimes on the borders of abstraction. It is a question of proposing spaces of uncertainty that offer the mind the possibility of reclaiming the moment or the place. The cinematographer's work is also turned into a game in which he tries to obscure the light. His work begins with long photo shoots to make "sketches" for the shooting. His shots are similar to paintings.
