Background
Being an ambitious ad agency, we wanted to hire some new creatives. And not just any creatives, but some of the best.
Describe the creative idea (40% of vote)
How do you recruit some of the best creatives in the ad business?
You don't just put an ad in the paper or other mainstram media as your message would be irrelevant to more than 99% of the audience. Narrow media with a distinct creative-class target group would obviously work a lot better – but then again, even in this audience the "adman percentage" is very low.
Instead, we found a place where the concentration of top creatives is 100 percent: An award jury.
Describe the execution (40% of vote)
Having found a place where the concentration of excellent creatives is 100 percent, i.e. an award jury, we needed to find a means to connect with the jury members. And do so in a way that would appeal to creative people.
So, we simply sent our job posting to the leading creative award in Denmark – disguised as an entry. And had a whole room of award-winning creatives scrutinize our message. For the cost of the entry fee and a stamp.
List the results (20% of vote)
By turning a jury room into our media when looking for new creatives, we got in contact with some of the most award-winning creatives in the business. And in a way that demonstrated how we share their skills and their mind-set, positioning our agency as an attractive place to work.
