Write a short summary of what happens in the film
The film is an emotional rollercoaster ride that addresses the fate of cancer patients who suffer from taste alterations. The film follows three top chefs who the Swiss Cancer League asked to rewrite their signature recipes to adapt them to the taste changes of cancer patients. In a tasting, the chefs face challenging feedbacks from three cancer patients from e.g. "too sour," "soft texture, but no taste at all," to "very tasty." Then, the rewritten recipes are published, and cancer patients are invited to a dinner with their families. One of the cancer patients comments on the experience with "it gave me courage again."
Cultural / Context information for the jury
Eating is more than nutrition and culinary enjoyment. Eating together integrates us into a community and thus fulfills a central need of humans. This is lost on those affected by cancer. Because two out of three cancer patients suffer from changes in taste because of the cancer or therapy. Eating is difficult for them, and they lose important social support. The topic is little known and is also treated in a medical-technical way by oncologists and nutrition experts. However, many cancer patients and their loved ones struggle every day with this issue and food.
