Write a short summary of what happens in the film
To announce the making of an electrified G-Class “Future 2021” envisions the year 2021 from the perspective of the year 1979. The year the first ever G-Class saw the light of day. The film introduces the new G-class in a fantastic, futuristic setting packed with aliens, talking robots and outlandish landscapes. Together with the car we become part of a classical science-fiction narrative and travel through space and time. The adventures of the Concept EQG are whimsical, humorous and out of this world.
Cultural / Context information for the jury
The task was to bring together the history of the G-class with the futuristic ideology of its new model - a reflection of its classic design combined with newly-innovated technology. The challenge was to create a film that was rooted in 1979 whilst looking forward to the present. What better way to do that than to work with genre, nostalgia and style.
