Write a short summary of what happens in the radio or audio work.

In terms of equal opportunities, there are still deep gaps between men and women worldwide. That's why we've been commissioned by "Frauen aufs Podium e.V." to sharpen our senses for how deep these gaps are, where they arise and what we can do about them: We make gender gaps audible and dramatize them with a simple and unheard mechanic: A woman and a man tell us about their lives - and they do it simultaneously. They start in unison. After all, the opportunities for women and men look similar at first. But the first small deviations emerge soon, followed by clear breaks. Until the biographies drift apart completely: both in terms of content and sound design. Here we work with a deliberately reduced and "sparse" staging to bring out the full naked truth. Accordingly, we support the spots on social media via moving image with a simple subtitle look.

Translation. Provide a full English translation of any audio.

We have uploaded a version translated into English to preserve the crucial simultaneous effect. The English scripts for the 3 spots read as follows: PENSION GAP: "I’m starting my CV well. Please outline the innovative elements of the work

We use a simultaneous mechanism unheard of in radio. This creates special attention from the beginning, but unfolds its full effect through the for the medium unusually sophisticated arrangement of the texts: Like the gap of injustice, the lyrics repeatedly gape apart, then seemingly come back together, only to actually gape even further apart. This scissor effect is completed by a stereo sound design in which the voices also drift further and further apart spatially. In combination with the diverse cast of speakers from different age groups and the factual and objective juxtaposition of the biographies, we turn our attention anew to an "old" topic in an astounding and stirring, but at the same time ruthlessly matter-of-fact way: gender gaps of all kinds still structurally run through our lives and societies. This makes us the first to make gender gaps not only tangible, but even audible.
