Write a short summary of what happens in the film
The film portrays stars in Norway´s premier football league, Eliteserien. We meet the biggest profiles up close and personal, without their sponsored team clothing on or PR personell running around – in places that have meant something special in regards to their careers. As the film series is called “Road to the top”, it´s important to tap into the adversities these profiles have been through – and how they have overcome them. The films take the pulse, not only on the players themselves, but the local environment and the football club in question. It tells raw stories no one else have the access to do with the players of the Eliteserien, where the players really opens up on different themes that is relevant for them and their career development. In short, it is a story about the players road to the top.
Cultural / Context information for the jury
Norsk Tipping is a state owned monopolist on lottery, online casino and sports betting. Their profits go straight back to grassroot sports across the country, and many of todays sports stars can thank Norsk Tipping for where they are today. Because of this, offshore betting companies are illegal in Norway, that goes for marketing as well. However, these companies exploits loop holes in the rules to mass advertise toward the Norwegian public. That´s why Norsk Tipping want sponsored content like Road to the Top. It builds their brand as the most responsible, as the company that is closest to Norwegian sports and the sports movement. Norsk Tippings slogan is “Give your Dream a Chance”. Road to the Top was very much born with this slogan in mind, and we hope that is reflected in the films as well. Anyone can succeed, if the give their dream a chance.
