Turin, 2017: TIM was the first Italian telephone company ever to launch a 5G network, initiating the “5G for Italy” program. With a 2.4 billion € investment, TIM secured the best phone frequencies available, thus confirming its leadership thanks to its ultra-fast service and widespread availability. The 5G technology will be bringing more and more sophisticated services to our everyday life, revolutionizing not only our cities, but also entire industries like manufacturing, automotive, education, healthcare, tourism and security, turning them into smart interactive systems. Low latency will bring about a true revolution in the 5.0 healthcare sector, as it will allow to perform remote surgery by using remote-controlled robots. A groundbreaking innovation made possible by a technology that brings people together no matter their distance and increases the opportunities of users and companies.
