Write a short summary of what happens in the film
The 2 videos we are submitting here are part of a "five video collection" that present an original and complementary aesthetic that position this also as a visual album, that DJ Glue presents himself - on his debut album - on a ride with famous Portuguese singers and MCs, now collaborating with him.
Here we resort to motion graphics to illustrate this new journey of his, where DJ Glue takes the wheels of his uncertain future, surely filled with "goodies" - witch clearly are these pearls of exploration of genre and musical collaborations. Resorting to a myriad of objects that create compositions somewhat surreal and decontextualised, punctuating the lyrics and melodies, we give the audience a ride into DJ Glue's new world. So hop on!
Cultural / Context information for the jury
DJ GLUE's one of the most prominent DJs in Portugal, founding member the biggest band of the 90s. Now solo, his debut album was very anticipated by fans.
Although stylistically well-defined, the diversity of the themes and of the collaborations presented on the album suggested the need to translate the warm and melodic base, sometimes sweet other times more aggressive, in a language that would help to complement the aesthetic environment of the songs.
So we turned to illustration, resorting to a myriad of objects that create compositions somewhat surreal and decontextualised, and exploited it in various ways — from the cover print to the motion graphics that punctuate 5 original music videos and its social media teasers (reinforcing a sense of visual album), ending up having that role of a sensorial vehicle prior and subsequent to the disc hearing: one conceptually proper packaging to what is inside.
