Write a short summary of what happens in the film

Come Give Me Love tells the story of two young sisters whose life gets turned upside down when one of them gets diagnosed with cancer. Through intimate scenes we follow the story from the younger sister Saga’s point of view. Her big sister and hero are suddenly forced into cancer treatment just when her life as a young adult is about to start. Saga feels powerless and scared when someone she’s been taking for granted slowly slides away in front of her eyes.

Tell the jury about the production design/art direction. You may wish to comment on choices, challenges or effects.

To emotionally engage our audience the challenge was to create a rich and believable story with a very limited budget. This meant sacrificing much of the comfort for the agency and production team during shoot to afford extensive casting, believable set design, styling and probably most importantly the cinematic look. This film is shot on 35 mm using handheld camera and mostly natural light. Purposely resulting in a cinematic look combined with a natural feeling and intimacy. Water is used as an artistic metaphor for life. But water could also kill you. Growing up close to the ocean the sisters swim together, play in a sprinkler and jump from cliffs. But when one of them isn’t there anymore the element of water suddenly becomes threatening. The first thing we hear in the film is the sound of waves, like a slow heartbeat.
