Please tell us about the cultural insight that inspired the work
In Norway, parliament politicians living over 40km away from the capital, Oslo, are granted a free government apartment.
Early September, Norway's Minister for Children and Families, Kjell Ingolf Ropstad, was caught red handed. The press found out he was registered at his parents place, to be eligible for a government apartment. When in reality he owned a house right outside of Oslo, and exploited the opportunity to rent it out. Over the course of 10 years he has underpaid 68 000€ in taxes. Living free on taxpayers expense.
FINN.no, Norway's biggest marketplace for housing (similar to Craigslist.com), wanted to give a little advice to the minister. We put up a message 200m from the parliament, in hopes he would notice on his way to work.
