Tell the jury about the creation of the original music track.

The music was composed by Bruno Coulais, author of the original film score of "Les Choristes" and multi award-winning composer for his cinema work. For Sécurité Routière, he crafted a bespoke soundtrack, made sublime by the violin of Laurent Korcia, one of the finest European soloists.

Write a short summary of what happens in the film

When someone crashes through a windshield, it's the lives of those close to him that are shattered. This is the story told by this film. At first the house is calm, peaceful. Then the accident makes the photo frames explode. That same shockwave travels through the lives of the family of the young man who hadn't put on his seatbelt. His parents are distraught, his sister is devastated. On screen, the scene is fixed, frozen. The only thing in motion is broken glass. That of the shattered windshield and of the picture frames that explode in the family home. At this very instant, the life of this family pivots. After this, nothing will ever be the same.

Cultural/Context information for the jury

In 2016, 354 people died on the roads of France because they weren't wearing their seatbelt. Behind these victims there are thousands more. The parents, the family members, the friends. All devastated, all shattered, all impacted by the loss of a loved one. It's their story we wanted to tell.
