Tell the jury about the elements of sound design.
The brief was to create an epic soundtrack to match the scale, speed and magnitude of the visuals. No audio was recorded on the shoot and nobody liked the actual sound of the buggy, so we were tasked with creating a new sound that was both believable and exciting. We were given the scope to introduce techi and sci-fi elements to help drive the edit and the narrative along. A lot of time was spent bedding the buggy sounds into the environment through the use of ice and snow foley, atmos tracks and reverbs.
Write a short summary of what happens in the film
We see a buggy being raced across icy plains by test driver Jay Jones; he accelerates through the snow in freezing temperatures all the while maintaining speed and agility. The advert shows its audience that by using this range of synthetic oils, cars will continue to perform at their best in temperatures below zero.
