Write a short summary of what happens in the film
A young artist is standing on the street, singing and trying to be heard. But no-one notices her, except for one person, a bus driver. After a long day of singing for people who doesn’t seem to care, the young artist rides on the bus through the city, looking a bit disappointed. The bus driver decides to make a difference. She strays away from the ordinary route and takes the singer to a party in another part of town. The young artist steps on stage, the music silences, and she starts to sing, now being both heard and noticed. A metaphor for what an electric bus might do to a whole city.
Cultural/Context information for the jury
Volvo Buses' new electric bus is silent, clean and can run everywhere in a city. For the launch of these new buses, we wanted to make a film about someone who tried to be heard.
Nathalie Cuti from Gothenburg, Sweden, dreamt about a breakthrough in the music business. And this is where Volvo’s new electric bus can make a difference. A clean and quiet bus, developed for street smart cities, that stands back to let the city and its citizens be heard.
The film is a launch film is mainly targeted towards governments and public transport authorities and bus drivers on the European market. It is meant to be used on transportation fairs, sales meetings, and other initial contacts with new prospects. But through the concept “Listen to your city” we also want to change the public opinion on clean transportation.
