Write a short summary of what happens in the film
In a shipyard in the city of Viana do Castelo, where the Neopop electronic music festival has taken place for more than 12 years, we see a local, traditionally dressed Folk Dance Group dancing to the sound of Techno music. Folk Dancing is traditionally done here to the sound of a techno beat and we see the dancers joining together with a group of young Techno music fans. They dance as if they are just one group and the subtitles appear with the names of the artists headlining the Festival. The film closes with a call for people to sign a petition for Viana do Castelo to be made the Capital of Techno.
Cultural/Context information for the jury
The city of Viana do Castelo has welcomed the Neopop Festival and the Techno culture, for more than a decade with open arms, mixing its people, its customs and its folklore with Neopop. This relationship has been maturing and generating greater value, for both the Festival and the City. Accordingly, the overarching objective in 2018 was to unite the city and the festival even more closely and make Viana do Castelo the Capital of Techno.
A communication campaign was developed for this purpose, aiming to promote the initiative and encourage people to sign the petition. The slogan for the campaign was "All for Techno", represents this inseparable relationship and a website specifically created to support the campaign, with the functionality to gather and count petition signatures and share a consistent message on social networks, which also led to the artists appearing at the festival actively promoting the movement.
