Write a short summary of what happens in the radio advert

In our spot "Snow White" we tell the story of the (famous) fairy tale character "Snow White" in the present time. Since hardly anyone is interested in her these days, she does everything to get back in the spotlight. So she even participates in a TV show for C-list celebrities and humiliates herself more and more. We end the spot with a call to fairy tale characters like Snow White not to be forgotten and refer to Heymanns Bookstore wide range of fairy tales.

Cultural/Context information for the jury

Rumpelstiltskin, Mother Holle and Snow White are well-known fairy tale characters of the Brothers Grimm. The most famous fairy tale authors and publishers in europe. Nevertheless, it is possible that the figures are not known in very few parts of the world.


The Spot “Snow White”. (Sfx: Music in the background.) (Man:) Once upon a time there was Snow white. (Snow White: “Hey”) A girl everyone regarded as the most beautiful in the whole country. But at some point nobody was interested in her anymore. Then the mood changed. (Man: “Ok, Snow white and here the oppressive contract!” Snow White: “Ok”) And while she was living beyond the seven hills, together with the seven dwarfes ... she now lives in middle of the jungle. With a few Z-list celebrities. (Sfx: jungle atmosphere, Snow White: “It’s about self-discovery!”) Back then her skin was as white as snow ... nowadays it’s brown as the mud she has to swim through. (Presenter: “Ok. Ready for the daily trial?”, Sfx: drowning Presenter: “Äh ... Snow white?!?”) And while she once choked on an apple ... she now swallows the steamed private parts of a bush kangaroo. (Sfx: chewing, champing , swallowing, Snow White: “Uäh!”) And all this, just because nobody cared about her anymore. (Off:) Don’t let Snow White be forgotten. Dreamy and slightly surreal, Ice Skaters for Ikea from CZAR Brussels

Ice Skaters shows the dreamy and slightly surreal spectacle of a middle aged couple spinning and gliding on the polished wood floors of an elegant, high-ceilinged apartment in their socks. With the tagline 'Bring life into your living room' it is a beautifully crafted advert creating a warm, nostalgic mood for the brand, Ikea. It won Bronze at Eurobest in 2018 for production company CZAR Brussels. Director, Joe Vanhoutteghem and producer, Lander Engels talk to Eurobest about the experience of creating the work. 

How do you make an idea work when your entire media budget is pulled, a week before launch?

The gin, the city, the song and the search for the special colour of Seville

PS21 Madrid, the creative transformation company set up by founder of creative agency dommo Agustín Vivancos, was in its first year when the team began work on Searching for the Special Colour of Seville. It was a piece of work that would not only go on to win the agency’s first major award, Bronze in Creative Data at Eurobest in 2018, but would also become part of Seville’s cultural heritage. We hear how the idea came to life from Strategy Director, Sergio Garcia and Executive Creative Director, Victor Blanco.
